I already rigged a lil dummy killswitch setup on my ignition just in case but i hope they have enough sense to give jet boaters a pass although im not counting on it with lake perris that place is getting harder to enter than a military base lol.

Lol we frequent perris quite a bit that’s kinda why I’m asking I was kind wanting to do the same a dummy but I wonder if they are gonna make you turn it on to make sure it’s a working one

Oh yeah thats right i remember you saying that. Well Knowing them they just might make you test it, im going to hit perris sometime next week so well see but Im definitely not up for installing a legit one.

I hear u on that well let me know what happens . I’ll be out there testing in a couple weeks I hope just waiting on my headers to get back from getting recoated. Motor is gonna look sharp this coming season. More than likely I’ll c u out there soon

From what I read and understand, if your boat was built before Jan 1, 2020, you don’t need one.
If you’re boat was built after that date and is under 26’ it needs one. If your boat was built with one, you need to use it.

So I just skimmed further down the FAQ list I posted. Q23, the last one,
Q23. I bought my 22-foot boat many years ago and it did not have an engine cut-off device installed by the manufacturer, so last year I added a new wireless engine cut-off devices. Am I required to use it?
A23. Yes. If an engine cut-off switch is present, it must be used.
Apparently, if one is installed on your boat, no matter the age, it must be used. So for those of you who did install one, it must be used.
