Title: New jet boat 77 manta ray
Post by: j1mmy420 on August 01, 2013, 09:42:35 AM
Hello SCJB members. I just picked up a 1977 21' manta ray day cruiser.
Don't know much about it. This is my 4th boat ive owned, but my first jet.
I attached a picture. Right off hand I know the fuel guage and tach don't work.
Going to take it out this weekend for a test run.
Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated
Jimmy

Holy sh*t! I bet if you looked on here you'll find me asking about Manta Ray jet boats! I've got a 77 20ft Manta Ray BBF460 cobra super jet! I've only been able to find a couple online but never found anyone else who has one...Finally a fellow owner. They are rare boats and I've found just about all the info you could except how others liked or felt about they're float! I love mine, she rides great and seems to be a well built ride!

Nice to meet another Manta Ray owner.
I have done my research as well and found some or little info about these floats. I have only taken the "badfish"(officially named) out once so far. But I love the way it handles and seems to be well built.
I have a SBC Berkeley setup but she definitely moves. Going to GPS it next time out.

Hi, Someone gave me this exact boat. He said it was a Tahiti. But after some investigating it is a manta ray. How many feet long is your boat? I need to buy a cover for it. The desert sun and this heat wave is going to rot everything.

Looks like my Eliminator.
21' day cruiser.
Originally a 460 ferd/Berkeley, now a 454 Chevy.

Great cruisers! But no hot rod, lol.
