I aquired a motor from skip a few weeks ago and not sure what I am going to do with it just yet. Since money is tight.....i figured i would do a budget 460 project with it.
My goals:
- Spend as little as possible
The cash counter is set to zero....and only goes up based on money i spend from here on out, it does not include parts i currently own or that have been donated, only out of pocket expenses related to the motor itself.
I am not a mechanic by any means, so that means i have no idea what i am doing. Only 460 experience I have is with my previous motor. So that being said, any suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated.
The motor:
$100 + 2 SCJB ShirtsThis is a D9TE-AB block. Skip only gave me a little info when I picked it up. He said it came out of a flat bed pickup that was out on a ranch and was used to haul hay around. The truck was totaled when it hit a pole, but the motor was still running. I have no idea what the heads are...there are no markings anywhere other then a ford logo by the valve springs.
