Title: How to change Fuel sender in 1976 Hawaiian Jet boat?
Post by: Millerz13 on August 19, 2023, 06:37:01 PM
There isn't a lot of room- do the tanks need to be removed? If so is that fairly easy?

Thanks in advance

They are saddle tanks- currently gas gauge doesn't work- when the selector switch is toggled nothing happens either. Might just be an electrical issue? New boat and previous owner of 3 years just said it doesn't work.

if it is a bad sender then i would assume you have to remove the tank to remove/install the sender, but i dont know about glassed in tanks. are they glassed in tanks? i would start troubleshooting the easy to get to things first. youtube how to check a gauge and fuel sending unit.

Yes they are glassed in tanks. Almost like the fiberglass is there for protection not really up against them. I will definitely check all the wiring given the complexity of the tanks.
Thank you!
