Title: Oil Pressure Gauge Troubleshooting
Post by: sportinwood on August 10, 2012, 08:47:00 AM
Recently got my boat back from my mechanic. He replaced my oil pressure gauge during the engine rebuild. I have taken it out 3-4 trips now and I have had some fluctuating oil pressure readings. Cruising speed around 3200-3800 rpm I have noticed my tach start jumping around at random times and then go back up to a consistent pressure. Slow down during the fluctuation and it goes back to a decent pressure and stays and even if I speed up it'll stay up and consistent.

I do have a stereo and my mechanic suggested going to a mechanical gauge with the thought of the stereo causing problems.

Any input would help.

Thanks, Dave

Ok, I will give it a good clean and torque. Hypothetically if that does not fix, any chance the stereo could be interfering with it? Thanks for the input.
