start at your fuel lines make sure there is no clogs. you want a nice free flow to the pump.

the only thing i can think of is the new holly pump had bigger inlet and outlet so i had 2 reduce right at the pump...could this be the issue? i need bigger fuel lines?

pull the sight plugs see where the fuel is . adj from there.  im thinkin that needle and seat are stuck and that is why it starts when you pump the throttle .

exactly the reason why you need to run a fuel filter/water seperator.  a small piece of dirt can ruin your weekend, not to mention your motor.  i have a water seperator before my fuel pump and then an inline smaller micron filter right after my pump.
I got same setup as you. This also another reason to use brass floats instead of the crumbly black neoprene ones.
