Title: I NEED HELP!!!!!
Post by: RedSnapperSlapper on June 13, 2011, 10:08:49 AM
My brother ( The Beav) and I thrashed all last week getting the boat ready for a test run this weekend at Elsinore for the BR Fathers day float. The boat ran good the new engine ran strong and no problems with the rebuilt pump until this happened.

wow  :o
how did the boat react when it happened? i've heard that's a lot of stress on just four mounting locations and some jacuzzi owners tap them to 1/2" thread.

After spending a few minutes and actually looking at the pictures, I know why she broke.....

So that it does not happen again.  The wedge caused a large amount of strain on the lower bolts. you need to increase the size of the threaded holes and stud it...Do not use bolts.

You can buy stainless steel threaded rod and Red Locktite number 271 them into the bowl, then use hardened flat washers and aircraft nuts to torque it down...

Trust me on this, it will solve the problem permanently and you wont kill yourself.

All of the droop nozzles and regular nozzles with wedges need this done....And for god sakes be careful.

It turns out i kept my old nozzel when I installed the diverter and the adapter is identical to the one on the diverter with the exception of the broken tabs ;) took it to the polisher this morning should have it by thursday morning. ;D the boat will be ready for BR this weekend. Thanks for all the help.
