This is going to be my first time doing this and need to know what tools I will need to take out the old wood

Is this for a jet or I/O... My trans is woodless jet. Bout 3/8 thick glass. If its going to need the extra strength or attachment of devises then follow kaotyk.

Jets don't need any wood because there is no load on it. Jets need the strength in the floor/keel.

no transom wood here, kenny at bk boat repair told me it was useless in a jet boat unless you want to hang stuff off it

Mine is 1/2 plywood thinking of going with a better plywood like cabinet plywood
