NEED TO REPLACE FUEL TANKS IN 1973 NORDIC JET BOAT. ANY TIPS OR TRICKS TO DO SO WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
I've seen this go easy or be a real pain! Both of my Hallett's required tank replacements and I used air cut off on the first and an electric cut off on the second. Both made an itchy mess but went quick, just wear long sleeves and a dust mask(respirator would be best). In some cases I have heard of a sawzall doing the trick and even what Bunger used above. Either way it's not that difficult but it most likely will get messy.
Empty the tanks as much as possible then cut away any fiberglass tabbing that is holding the tanks in place. Be carefull not to dig too deep into the hull with the cutting wheel/blade or you will be making more work for yourself patching back. A ventilated space is preferred when performing this task.
