I have it on very good authority that this is correct, I was told by Ed Pacilio who had the molds at Ultra that Jason Roush of Canyon Marine has purchased the molds and is planning on selling new TPR Stealths in a limited capacity (race only hulls).

Hey all...............   The rumor is correct!!!!!!!!!( But it's Rouse, not Roush)    I was CP Dad on the HB forums and met many of you either at the races or at the river.   Not sure what the new company name will be, but the boat is staying the TPR Stealth 19,  I wouldn't even consider changing the name of Tommy's boat..........  The goal is to build both race boats and river hot rods,  but it's going to take a bit of time to line things up and be ready build.  Looking forward to 2008 ;D ;D ;D

Not taking deposits yet,  still have alot of set up work to do.  You'd be amazed at the red tape involved with  getting certified to issue hull id #'s and MSO's.  I really do want to be able to sell boats to river/lake racers and not just make them race only, or unable to register.  The Coast Gaurd gets pretty specific and in talking with them today, I might even have to do a floatation test to calc max weight for the boat.  That means I get to build my first hull and give it the CG so that they can sink it...........  Sounds like fun hugh?   Then comes the HP ratings  ::) ::)  The guy I was talking to literally fell out of his chair when I was telling him I wanted to put 1000 hp in it (Don't worry, I told him that would only be in the race hulls). Sounds like I might be lucky to get 250-300 hp max rated for the boat without lots of expensive testing to prove the hull safe to the CG.  That's ok because at this point, I have no intentions of making these turn key boats.  Pretty much everybody I can think of that would have any interest in a boat like this has their own specific motor/pump combo and their own engine builders that they trust.  I just want the rigging to be very clean and very custom.  Fortunately,  there are several riggers in this area that have alot of experience with these hulls,  and I am in the process of making those contacts for getting the boats rigged.

As you can see, there is still alot of work ahead of me before the first boat comes out,  but you'll all know when it happens.  I am so stoked to be able to continue Tom's legacy, but at the same time I am realizing what a big responsibility it will be.  I would much rather put a ton of effort into every boat and build some really trick pieces than just send boats out the door.  There is no such thing as a "stock" boat in this category, and I intend to keep it that way............  Thanks for all the interest.

And Brad, sorry I lurked for so long....   Glad to see the site is taking off so well.   Jason

I never really thought what extent it would take to make a hull 'street legal' with the USCG.....but I wouldn't have imagined it to be that tedious. Keep us updated as you sift through the red tape and venture into making your first hull.

If only it were that easy .....LOL.   Actually. were getting through the process, it just takes a little while.   Hopefully, I'll be ready to put the first boat in the mold in a month or two.  Alot of planning is going into the first one to develop some really trick hardware.  The goal is to end up with a super clean install.  Even the trailer is going to take a bit to get set up really clean.  I'll show pics as soon as I can.   One thing I know,  it's great to see alot of river and lake racer boats coming back.  For a while there, i thought they were going to be extinct!!!!   It's great to see the amount of real "hot boats" on the water now days, and I'm not talkin about the 150K dollar "look what I bought by refinancing my house" boats.  It's awsome to be able to talk to somebody at the river and they actually know what went into building their boat, and in many cases, had a hand in it....

Getting closer,  just have to finish a few projects so that I can devote my time to the Stealth.  Should be within the next month or two.  I have one customer lined up and I will be building one for myself, but I'm hoping to find a third that wll be ready to take the plunge.  Jason

Well folks,  been waiting to make this known for a while, and now that the mold is in my garage I feel I can put it out.  The Stealth is ready to go, but I will not be building it.  The mold is now in the hands of Greg Shoemaker and Mike D.  Greg has ben building and setting these style boats up since they were first developed at Eliminator.   When I originally took on this project, I wanted to build river hot rods, not race boats....  Set up is extremely crucial on these things and Greg and Mike are much better equiped to do it correectly.  All of my experience is in a gullwing and not a tunnel boat.  I still have access to these boats thru them (So Cal Customs),  and I can get one whenever anybody wants.  Prices for a bare hull is around $9200.

Now for the good news.  I acquired the So Cal 19' gullwing mold and it is sitting in my garage now.  Some folks might recognize the mold from the boat that Dave Batista built and had for sale on the PB site.  The bottom is identical to a CP 19, and there are some slight differences in the deck.  This mold has a slight arch or bubble in the deck and the CP is fairly flat, the difference is very subtle.  I have wanted to build these for years and finally got the chance to jump on it.  It just worked out well for both of us,  Greg and Mike got a race platform to compliment the daytona, and I got a river rod hull.

Prices are going to be very close to the So Cal boats, and I will be setting these up  race style ( 1" stringers, Calgo steering, etc) that aren't available in the CP 19.  I want to keep the graphics kinda old school, but any design will be welcome.  We should have the hull ID #'s very shortly and will start taking orders very soon.  Lay ups will be done at a local laminator that do some of the best gel work in the industry.  My goal is not to compete will CP.  Bill Scotten builds an outstanding boat and has a very devout following.  The goal is to build a few very custom gullwings the way I think they should be built, and pay very close attention to detail.    Let me know if anybody is interested and I can get you  more info.

depends on a few things, but right around $9000.  THe wait would only be a 2-3 weeks.  First one is going in the mold soon.......   River Dad

Hey Romper,  give me a call when you get a chance.   I've been looking into trailers and I need kind of a custom deal,  but if I could get somebody to build me a standard frame and then let me finish them with narrowed axles, fat low pro fenders, etc,  that would be great.   Whenever you get a chance,  or anybody else that's interested,  give me a call.    Jason     951-675-9249.   By the way and off the subject,  congrats Ralph.  I was over a Harold's place yesterday and he told me you gave him a real run for his money.......  That's a big compliment coming from him.....     Jason
