Title: Silicon clean up
Post by: Hddaddy on March 25, 2010, 03:23:42 PM
Any suggestions on how to remove the old silicon from my pump?  Got a little leak coming in around the transom area.

probably like a plastic scraper or bondo spreader so it wont scratch, just kinda dig at it a little and pull off pieces you can get to.

Gas seems to be a winner.

I used a pair of wide mouth vicegrips with a razor cutter blade and held it at an angle and carefully scraped it off worked great just take your time and keep it at a steep angle
