Title: My Addictor 333 (Bambino) is a little...different.
Post by: Lil Wake on November 20, 2012, 07:17:35 AM
I'm not a Californian...but I was referred here by a couple mini boat owners. I am an Addictor Bambino owner. I know Addictor's were born in your state so a lot of you are probably very familiar with them. If you didn't own one growing up, you probably knew someone who did or at least saw them cruising the lake. Mine is a little different though. Over the past 6 months I cracked away at this project...hard. This is my first boat, and first boat build. I found out after a few weeks of work that I was in almost over my head. Luckily I was saved by a lot of very knowledgeable guys who were willing to share their experience and advice with me on two other boat and PWC forums.

See if you can spot why it's different...

So as you can tell it's definitely not finished. There is a lot of work left to do. But we got it running right before winter sets in here in MN. Over the winter I will be finishing the details. Wake tower, bimini top, swim platform, audio, upholstery, gauge pod, custom exhaust, exterior graphics, windshield, etc. When it's finished it will look like my rendering in my signature.

Let me know if you want to see certain pics of how things were done.

Thanks!

I've explored only a little bit and have seen such sweet boats here. I love the instagram widget on the homepage that shows users photos! I'll definitely be here and keep this post up to date with all my winter mods.

Here she is with the old windshield and rear hatch cover back on. They both will be replaced this winter.

Also I forgot to link my video in the first post. This was taken on the break in run. It has a freshly rebuilt motor so we were keeping the throttle variable and short full throttle burts. Keep in mind it was only 40 degrees outside, haha.

you are doing a killer job on this project.

My final river garage is going up today. once this is done i will be able to keep my boat at the river. that will open up a garage space so i can stick my dune buggy and project kit car in its spot. Once those two are moved it will open up the work area in my shop. And then i can start plugging away at rigging my mini boat. that is pretty much all i have to do left. well once its all rigged i will need to pull it completly apart for paint and gell coat work. but i am hoping it will be done by the end of the summer.

i have made an apt with the fiberglass shop to drop off the mini hydro. But i still need to strip the jet ski and get both hulls over to the shop for the bottom transplant.

Here is a lil photo update! It was -25* (-50* windchill) here today in MN and she is in hibernation. Spring cannot come soon enough!! This will be the first full summer with Lil Wake completed. There will still be big changes to come before then though! :D

I have a couple vids to share. Still not great footage but hopefully it will do until this coming spring/summer which will be the first full summer the boat will see! Can't wait to get great video and compile it into a sick video.

First I have to warn you this first video is 15 minutes of extreme handheld shakiness. It kinda adds to the experience though as it's similar to riding in Lil Wake, bouncing over all the chop/wake, haha. It was also my girlfriends first time on the boat after the swap and she is very anxious as-is, lol. When this video was shot the boat was not finished and was rushed to get ready enough for the 4th of July weekend running on a freshly rebuilt top end.

The second is some footage from the Twin City Jet Pilots (jet ski crew), who I met up with for a day last summer. I make a brief appearance in Lil Wake in this video between 5:00 and 6:00.

You need a top loader intake grate on that thing to keep the pump connected to the water .looks pretty cool though

Thanks man. The pump stays connected. What you are hearing in the vid is me varying the throttle because I was breaking in the newly rebuilt motor. No long bursts of full throttle.

I am building a similar boat on pedal instead of power.  Where did you get your steering system.  It would be a perfect match for my small boat.  Thanks,

The steering/throttle system is from a WetJet Brut 432. I paid $90 shipped to buy it off a parts machine. Price was kinda high just because there are not many left so parts are hard to come by. it's a very simple system though and exactly what I needed. Also standard bicycle grips fit it and with new paint it gives a more modern look. Is yours a paddle boat or something?

Here is a video.
