Title: BBC header coating
Post by: redpanda2765 on January 25, 2022, 08:33:45 AM
Mi got a quick question and need some advice! I have a set of wet bassetts right now and next year I want to go to a dry set up I already have a water line that goes thru the motor so I know I?m good there but I don?t know if I should just keep my headers now which do have a little rust and either powder coat them with classic polish? Or get another set and either re chrome them or powder coat them to a chrome look a like? Since I am going dry headers I don?t want to pipes to turn blue or any other color so I am wondering if I should powder coat them in a chrome look a like?

If you just want to use the the wet headers you have now, you could just put plugs in the I water injection bungs. If you do that, you might want to put some hi temp anti-seize on the plugs. It?ll make it easier to take them out if you decide to go back to wet headers.

Ceramic coating is what you want to handle the heat. They have a silver/aluminum look, nothing really like chrome. They also have other colors like black white and copper. Eventually, they will dull a bit do to the heat. Nothing is going to stay perfect on exhaust.

Embee Performance coatings is right off the 55 around Dyer.

There is also Young Gun coatings in Rancho Cucamunga.
