i really need to take the boat out (strange as it sounds, the wife's been bugging me) :banghead: but i need more seat time before some of the desert races coming up. i'll be out in the dez this weekend ;D
they really need to make the working week four days and the weekend 3 days, i would get so much more stuff done!
-
I'm heading home in a little bit, maybe I can get a couple things done to the Rogers and get out there. Last time out it seam to pick up a vibation. Checked the driveline and it seamed to be ok. Had water coming in thru the steering tube, tighten that up.

I have my 2 little kids and no babysitter tomorrow BUT I've really been jonesing for a day at the lake. Probly won't decide til tomorrow. The boat in my avatar is pretty easy to spot down around Coors Cove. If I do go I will definately need help launching and retrieving. I'm pretty sure I have Chief's cell # but not yours.

I've got to finish bending bars for the Jeep roll cage so I can return the bender I borrowed. Maybe next time.

Bob's new ride, its a beautiful boat. The weather was perfect and the water stayed glassy all day. I'm sure Bob will chime in later.

I think Ron got some pics........of towing me in  Started the day out with a minor overheating problem. Went down to MasterCraft, picked up a new waterpump impeller, after cleaning a few bits and pieces out of the hoses we seemed to be OK ;D Hung out in Coors cove for a bit, went to take Ron for a ride and over heating problem is back :banghead:. Looked at a few things, everything looked fine, decided it was time for a tow back to the launch ramp. Idled on my own out of the cove and NO overheating ???, I am guessing something must have been blocking the pick up. Made a few laps around the lake, did some doughnuts(this thing turns on a dime), floated for a bit, took off and bounced over a couple of rollers and everything shut down :banghead:. WTF!!!! Fuel pump is no longer working. Needless to say the boat is over at MasterCraft so they can fuk with it and figure out what is wrong. We had this boat on the lake 2 weeks ago with the owner and this thing ran flawlessly. I just dont get it. ::) At least I was local and had my hero Ron to help me out. Thanks Ron! Hopefully the next post on this boat will be good news. Wish me luck.

I wasn't going to post the pics of Bob's boat getting towed in until he brought it up. Funny thing is that I fully expected that there would be some towing going on, but somewhere along the way the roles got reversed. I dont have any hardware or ski tow to tie to, so my son Vance held the rope for the 45 min tow. We tied it to a wooden handle but I still feel it was like doing a pull up that wouldn't end for him.
I'm sure its just an electrical glich (sensors), and they will have it fixed in no time.

the jet boat never did this to you bob ::)

Hey Bob, word of advice, small plastic tool box, keep in it two extra impellers they are cheap and a spare fuel pump, they are a little pricey but have a good shelf life in the box and a ziplock bag.
The red and white cruiser I had at San Antonio had a fuel pump and an impeller fail on the same Shasta trip, we had the parts in the boat to fix both, lets just say Memorial Day weekend and the people at the marina were more than a little impressed...
Its funny because I also had a set of points in the toolbox (non of our stuff had points) and there was a guy broken down with a daycruiser right next to us and it was like 110*, we helped check it out and he had left the key on the whole trip up from Patterson and fried the points, they just happened to be the ones I had in the crash box... needless to say, it felt good to be a hero instead of a zero, the really funny part is he ended up towing in our friends later that day, Karma I tell you Karma :screwy:
Make sure to get all of the rubber out of the motor, it will sometimes stick in the T-stat housing...
Change it once a year no matter what (cheap insurance)..

I was thinking, man this picture is backwards!

For all the Elsie haters -- check out the color of the water in these pics :D
-
Bob, have they looked at the boat yet.

California Skier is trying to tell me that the kill switch is the wrong one. ITS THE ORIGINAL KILL SWITCH YOU IDIOTS!!!! ITS BEEN IN THE BOAT FOR 10 YEARS. They are saying the kill switch was making the fuel pump run all the time and thats what burned it out. Keep in mind the fuel pump has about 2 hours of time on it. Its brand fuking new. They dont want to warrenty it out because I am not the original owner. Needless to say I have been on the phone with Mastercraft corp. trying to get some sort of resolution. The problem is that this weekend is the LA boat show so the people at CA skier have not been in the shop much so they keep playing phone tag with M.C. corp. Stay tunned for fun and excitement.

Finally got some good news yesterday ;D After talking to the head of owner relations at Mastercraft Corp. they agreed to replace the fuel pump at no cost. I agreed to pay for the new kill switch...($40.00 big deal). Should be back on the water by next weekend. Original owner has been very cool about this and even called CA Skier to harp on them to "Make this right" and offered to pay for half of the bill. Lets hope this will be the end of this story. :-X
-
Next weekend huh? Drag it out to Havi, we'll all be there, not sure why but we're going.
-
Thanks for the invite but I think I better stay close to home for the next couple trips just in case. Beside's....daughters birthday party.
-
Got a call today that the boat is finished and runs perfect ;D Too bad the weather will be shitty this weekend. Hopefully next weekend I can give it another try and have a better story to tell. Anybody come out and tow back in ;D.
