Title: cat back exhaust system
Post by: farmergord on February 20, 2013, 02:51:45 PM
I want my hemi to sound more like a hemi and less like a sewing machine, soooooo I want to change the exhaust and i wondered if any of you have any opinions or recommendations on what sounds good, gives good performance and doesn't cause any issues with the check engine light coming on. It is a 2012 5.7 l hemi  ram 1500 4x4 crew cab. I have read good things about the Borla 140307 system but looking for any opinion thanks guys

Magnaflow all the way , and it's stainless. Stay away from the cheap flowmaster crap , it'll just rust out.

i've heard Magna flow drones in the cab quite a bit but certainly cheaper than the Borla

Maybe in a car , but I doubt it in a truck as long as the exhaust exit's in the rear.

Good for you Gordo.  I have the same muffler on my 2012 Big Horn QC 4X4. 1 in 2 out, I like the sound.

I used to be a MagnaFlow dealer. Go with Magnaflow, they are the best performance wise. When they design a kit for a vehicle, it must make horsepower improvements or they won't put it out to market. They try several designs until they find one that makes the most power. Then they build jig for it so they come out perfect every time. Only I'm not a dealer is I'm too small of volume for them (I only sell 1 or 2 a year). I am still a MAC Performance dealer, but they don't do cat backs for Dodge or Chevy right now. They cut back to focus on Fords since that's what they started out with. Any way, I'm going with Magnaflow on my Hemi Ram. I think they're the best out there.

went with magnaflow 12288and love the sound.thinking about a tuner now
