going to be headed to lake san antonio over cinco de mayo weekend if anyone is interested???

i down its only about 3 1/2 hours away from me ! i have to check my schedule first. hope the waters warm by then

cool! its about an hour and half for me. not sure if the water will be warm or not. im just hoping its just nice out.

the plan is to camp right on the beach. i do beleave that is north shore. not sure as to the other stuff yet going out there mid feb to scoop things out will let you know then. any ideas???? been a while since i have been there???

just wasnt sure ...if it was a hole weekend thing...or day trip...just tryin 2 get an idea so i can talk the wifey into it >:D and not sure if i want 2 camp....its a liitle ways away so....but i will prob atleast come out 4 the day :beer:

if your wanting to camp i'm pretty sure its north shore south shore is where they have all the rental homes and pool hall and stuff. the best cover depending on the water level is road 4. thats where ill be . i hope they have the general store open buy then. not sure if they will. if they don't make sure you bring everything you need. im hoping the water will be warm by then, if not oh well. actually if you have a fishing license bring a pole and some bait you can catch some pretty good size fish just from your cove. we did last year just cast the lines out and put the poles in the ground. also probably at that time of the year wont see much of law enforcement up there either. camping should cost like 100$ if that if your only going to be there friday-sunday.
most people you will see out there are bass boats that time of the year. there might be a little more since it will be a holiday weekend deal. but im guessing it will be kinda bare on people. so we will have any pick on where exactly you want to stay on a cove

sounds great!! that would be awesome if there werent that many people out there!! and yah if the water was warm by then that would be a bonus!

well...looks like we gota trip :thumbup: i think its still self pay at that time . and x2 on the bass boats...they hate when i hall a** by them LOL >:D

yea i think ill still be able to go at least for the weekend hell at least stay one night , yea same didnt work my ass off to be able to put money into this dam boat haha I don't plan on sitting on the side lines watching everyone else have fun

there is going to be a change of plans, seems as if during that weekend there is the wild flower fest so we will be moving over to lake nacimiento. which is only a ten min difference .who is still planning to go??

We have a major job going down over that weekend and we have had a couple of our guys try to take themselves out of the gene pool with a dirt bike...It amazes me how these forty somethings think they are still 18 years old and ten feet tall and bulletproof....."No your not!"
So I will be working this weekend because someone went and had all the "fun" before me.
Maybe next time.

The funny thing is, I figured out the dirt bike dangers when I was about 27 as my daughter was being born...... :screwy:

Those are all the reasons why I race Vintage MX. With 6 inches of travel and 30 hp from a 400 I stay low and slow. Everybody wants to go to work on Monday and so you know nobody is going to land on you while doing a double, or take out your front wheel to move up from 5th to 4th. But I guarantee you it is the same thrill it ever was when the gate drops. I have ridden Glen Helen, Hangtown, and even Washougal WA on my CZ, just like the big boys. Sure wish Saddleback or Carlsbad was still open.

sounds awesome! but no more bikes. i do still have my honda cr60, and am planning on get my girls little bikes like a yamaha pw 50s, and maybe build another honda 50 but thats it .no more bikes my son can do that now but not me ;D just hurts to much.

hope it isnt gona be packed .....hope there is some beach spots....last time i was there had 2 camp up over the hill...way far from the water....then agin it was 4th of july weekend :screwy:

from what i understand there are a few that are right on the water and you can beach your boat. and when i called yesterday there werent alot of people there.

I live in Paso... I was out for the first time last saturday, I did some barter work 2 weeks ago Aluminum welding for SS braided fuel line + fitting's. So had to get er out and test, for leaks that is.. LOL, any ways water is proley lower 70 deg ish and pretty freakn clean.. If you fish, spotted bass hittin like a mutha.. Rubber worm/topwater from shore.. Check out heritage ranch, usually some bikini's and boat's on the point.. Dont think ill make it out but, who know's.. Im only 20 min away....

dont feel bad i may not even be able to go . my wife is going to the doctors today to see if she has to have to her gallbladder removed. this week. so do you guys just want to make it for say the 12th and 13th. i wont know anything till tonight. soory guys. and yes i hear that people still go down the narrows.

sorry 2 here that mobboss...and the narrows get a little out of control and the rangers hang out in the little coves and pull people over when comeing out ...

Narrow's are hit and miss.... On a holiday weekend Las Tablas has been off the hook for the past 6 years... I cant say iv been to the narrow's on a big weekend in a few year's.. Las Tablas is pretty fun !

Same well sometime in the morning I have to hook up a tach and retime the engine real quick before I take off. But I'm guessing I'll be headed out by 11-12 and it's a 2 hour drive I think close it. Had the tritip marinating the last couple days :thumbup:

It was fantastic weekend! well sorta! the weather was great no clouds, met some new people , had just a really awesome time. Until i got around to lauching my boat. got it into the water no prob , off the trailer no prob got it started no prob going thur the 5mile an hour no prob, got on it big prob!!!!! rod knock!!!!! loss of oil pressure huge prob!!!!!! now i get pull the motor and see what happened. will post pics. all the way thur the whole thing . got to get back on the water!!!! 1978 southwind it was really nice to meet you i hope we can do it again!!! thanks .

thats sucks !! my probs started b4 i evan got out of the driveway...wifey came home about 10:30 and stated getting really sick ...really sick!!! while working on the boat...finally after 3 hour of her hugging the porcilin god and me cusing at the dumb a** that gave me wrong info...i gave up ...but im hopeing to make it next time
