Redneck rail kit looks good. Wouldn't mind one of those myself with a bunch of coors light stickers over it...thinking about building a rat boat. Yep I said rat boat. Haven't seen one of those around...f the shiney chrome interior and gel coat. I wanna see stress cracks rust and chevelle bucket seats with miss matched gauges. And the bucket seats better be ripped and showing springs and foam!

Well I could list a slew of things but the head gasket is most common. Replace the gaskets (hopefully the heads aren't warped) and make sure you water pressure setup is correct...

Used the fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire that decided to crash our big river trip. If it wasn't for us having bad fukkin luck we would have no luck at all. Happy 4th everyone.  Stay safe =]

Idk. Didn't even really look yet. How many possibilities could there be though? Electrical somehow? Fuel is my first thought though. I've never heard of a boat spontaniously combusting whilst in the water.

Kids are now 28 and 23. They we're raised in that boat, it's 25 years old. I don't worry about them doing something stupid. I'm more concerned about the idiots on the Parker strip. First day out and Vance had to fix a couple of small water leaks. Motor was blubering, ended up changing out the needle and seat on the secondaries. Seams ok now.

Fuel leak spark'd by the alt.
Did it happen when you first hit the key/ starter?
I told the kids to open the motor cover to check for fumes everytime before they start the boat.
Fire or explosens is the one thing that really scares me and I check for fumes everytime.
Glad you are ok

My boyfriend says no fuel leak. But he changed the oil yesterday, put 8 quarts new in and pulled the dippstick this morning and there's nothing on it. Strange... would that cause fire?
I didn't even go out just for this reason. I went back to my air-conditioning and five minutes later here come my boys telling me the boat caught on fire... but I'm thankful they're alright too.
