Title: So Cal Jet Boat events for non-jet boats
Post by: Stelly1 on January 09, 2020, 02:44:58 PM
Hey been a member for a long time, but don't get on that much.  I have a 1979 Riviera with a 200hp Johnson on her.  Like most old school jets I'm free-board challenge.  Since there are really no gatherings for us old school outboard guys, I was wondering how open SoCalJetBoats is to wackers at your events?  Are we able to mix and mingle with the rest?  Or are we treated like red-headed step children and can only hang at the very end of the beach and have to stay away from the cool kids?

I haven't made it too an event yet, But I'm sure if you have a cooler full of beer they don't care what you float in!

You mean, will you be treated like a jet boater at the V-drive regatta?

Just kidding.  I've never experienced a more open and welcoming group.  Come out and have fun, just watch your draft.

There used to be a whacker specific group, called "The Outboard Church" on PB.  I think they were around the Delta area.

Cheers

Beautiful boat! Outboard church moved over to riverdavesplace.  Me and a buddy are redoing a hydrostream vulture right now. Got all the core in and covered in 2 layers of glass last weekend. Gonna have a 200 out back with a 15 inch mid on a 12 inch setback. Hoping to have it done within a month or so. It's my first outboard. I'm excited and cant wait!

Outboard Church looked like they had a lot of fun.  Their thread was around 600 pages deep when I last looked at it.

There is a SICK!!! outboard tunnel racing NJBA in Bakersfield.

I think an outboard show and tell page here would be bitchen, if there isn't already.
