I agree, nothing wrong with a Ford - I drive one everyday. I don't just mean engine parts, this guy has nothing (as I understand it) Chevy logs, mounts and the like are far more common than ones for a BBF. I assumed he was trying to save money by using a free engine, if he wants to spend thousands of dollars on it, he can bring it to ME. LOL
The differences in weight from whatever the boat was designed for can be critical to balance, weight, and center of gravity. A 350 Buick for example weighs in several hundred pounds lighter than a BBF.
I think trying to work around engine "X" and putting into boat "Y" demands a bunch of research, and math. Like I said - Good Luck!~
Edited when I remembered it was the 350 Buick that was the lightest of the iron V-8's
