Is there any major concern for using non marine parts in an enclosed engine compartment?  ie: fuel pump

If your getting a fuel pump make sure it has a vent tube and run a hose up to the arrestor. Most will vent but only some come with a vent tube. Carter sells a ventless electric and you dont need to buy the marine one as they both dont vent but there is a price diff. Your alt can have a screen added to the back to make it safe. Get a good blower and use it always before starting. I do have a carter -6 6psi with water fuel sep...$80 plus ship.

Open air...wouldn't worry so much. Closed will trap fumes somewhat and if theres a spark, your fubar.
