been busy gettin the house ready for the family...they started arriving today.

i hope to get it dialed in before long beach which is the first weekend of august....which only leaves me 2 weeks to work on it after i get back from the honeymoon....im going to pull the MSD stuff next week and send it in to get tested and repaired if needed...and also yank all the wiring out and start from scratch and take my time and do it right. even will color code shit right....no black positive wires

things that make you go hmmm  ....as mentioned, we were getting a studder in the motor under accelleration...this came apart when i was removing it out of #3....what concerns me is that it wasnt a fresh break...theres obviously corrosion in the poreclain.

Two things, simply observations and personal opinion.

Why are you running $1.25 spark plugs?

And ditch the quick connects on the coil    , use a ring terminal and a dob of clear silicone on the threads, you will be amazed how easy something like that will keep you from making a start time 

Check out NGK spark plugs in the same heat range and reach, the difference in quality is crazy

these trickflow heads came from ralph and those were the plugs that came with them. I replaced them with the same plugs for now. I will look into different plugs another day, but these will do just fine.

those will be going away when the boat gets re-wired completely this week.

not sure yet...i did take it out for a few quick laps at big river about a month ago, but didnt get a chance to look at the tach while flat footin it up the river. I was too busy white knuckin it with a grin ear to ear.

hey brad, can you take a picture of the Thermostat housing straight on for me? I am intreagued with you you've run your water lines. Oh wait I guess our set ups are differnent b/c your running your headers dry huh?

Anyways, hook a ford guy up with some ideas. I don't to completely jack the thread so I won't go into why I wanna see a pic.

it was about 110F out and you can imagine how hot it was under the bow rewiring all the gauges...

i was up for over 24 hours at this point...

this is the pile of shit remote oil filter relocation kit....it was leaking at the hose on the block side so i pulled it off and put teflon tape on it....still leaked....so i put a wrench on it to give it a little bit more...then pop. busted the cast aluminum adapter.     i HATE cast aluminum. ive now claimed 2 holley fuel pressure regulators, a fuel pump and now this...ARRGH.

i got some MSD deutsch connectors...these things are pretty sweet....very easy and very solid connections. i was sick of having to cut the wires and patch them back together each time. this will make it easier and cleaner.

The scoop is the dominator scoop i borrowed from ralph along with the carb....it was primered grey and pretty blah....so chromeys concepts to the rescue...

I didn't realize that the clear hose with the cloth braid can handle higher temps. (You have them between your valve covers and the headers.) I thought they were basically cold, low press only.

WOW you didnt scimp this go around those are the same style electrical connectors we use on the offroad stuff and they aint cheap! they will never fail you though!

well, theres good news and bad news.

good news is that muffled studder we were getting under load is gone...whatever i did by re-wiring the boat fixed it. 

bad news is that i wasnt able to really test it balls out. the boat does not like the mini droop....it was hoppin and unloading the pump on fairly smooth water. it just didnt feel safe....i am going to go back with what i know what works which is a standard nozzle adapter with no wedges. the best this hull has ran is with this setup. call me crazy, but this boat just doesnt like all that shit (wedges, droops, etc) added to it. Skip suggested putting a different loader on it. ill see if i can come up with an appropriate loader and go from there.
