Probably not.

I have used Hiem joints that I picked up from McMaster Carr before. That looks like a Mr. Gasket or a Holley. They suck. Basically for the reason you are experiencing.

Meh... To each his own, but stainless is too brittle for me. I like steel.... They have the chrome ones too.... 

For about 1/3 the price tag.

how much force are you putting on your throttle cable that you need it to be grade 8 steel?  you got a heavy foot!

Lucas oil drag boat requires a steel cable end. Either way they work. McMaster Carr is the place
