can you guys give me a lil info on these boats? are the bottoms the same?

any pros and cons with either one?

Well I've been doing homework on both of em' for a little while now and have learned a few things. With the scorpion that Hull was designed for a outboard and needs extensive bottom work to pull the number. Nicks scorpion I've riddin in multiple times and love every bit of it, it sets beautifully and runs over a bill with a pump gas 540 but it has alot of time into the bottom. Then there's the Daytona. There were 2 bottoms with the Daytona, rounded keel and flat keel, rounded keel is the one your after. Flat keel works great with the out board but not ideal for a pump if you ever wanna run the number. I personally like the looks of the scorpion over the Daytona because its different and you don't see one every day. Just my measly 2 cents.  And was talking about the 19 Daytona the 21-22 I'm not to sure on.

 Just in case your thinking about the 21' Daytona.  Almost all of them have the same bottom (rounded keel).  There where a few made, special order, that had the keel raised for OB use,  But there kinda rare.   The only other difference is the older style hull (flared sponsons) and the newer style (slab side).  The newer ones have a slightly different bottom, but there doesnt seem to be much difference in performance.

Scorpion was Eliminator's second tunnel after the Daytona and was an immediate turkey.  Didn't set well, didn't go fast, and didn't have enough sponson in the front to hold the boat up on shut down.  They worked ok for outboards since they were slower and the weight was further back and the shut down issue was not so darned dangerous.  I suppose after all these years a fix has been found but remember why you don't see too many of them was because the Daytona was so much better... they didn't sell well.
