that would be my worry, bring it home, start the process only to have the REAL owner want a handfull for it but unwilling to come pick it up because they dont have anywhere to store it.    it could turn into a HUGE headache.

basically without a lien sale they cant really do anything with it... looks like its been painted so i would bet that the HIN is covered up.

Get it, start paperwork on it ($70/vehicle) lien it in 30 days (@ $56/day=$1680 + $70 is $1750) Don't forget the original tow. ($155/hr)
I'd sell a free boat for $1750+. (all City of Long Beach prices)
Just don't work on it 'till you have the title on it.
