What kind of paint are you using? I like to use what the paint manufacturer recommends. The last couple jobs we did we used some stuff from PPG, I will get the name for you.

I did some searching and I think a local paint supply has that stuff. I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow. I'm gonna see if I can get the same metal flake green I have and shoot the underside of the boat and if i can get it down pretty good maybe the top deck. Wife approved my spending so I'm clear.

This is just me thinking out loud. Feel free to ignore this.

If you already have the boat on it's head, why not paint it from outer chine to outer chine?

This way, if you decide to paint the rest of the boat later on down the road, your more than half way there.....

Again, don't listen to me, I am fuggin retarded when it comes to this sort of thing. You are probably going about it the right way.

You have done an awesome job thus far...

Because the color I have is close but not that close, and you said that this was a 20 hour fix. I'm already into it about 30 and your trying to add another 15. I think you should just get this damn thing out of my yard. That and I don't think a quart will spray the whole underside. I have already thought about it. A gallon of platinum silver gel and metal flake clear is gonna run near 400.i think I'm just gona have to keep it simple. It's a 40 year old boat with its fair share of nicks and gouges on the top side. Wouldn't be right for the bottom of the boat to be nicer than the top. Lol.

if you dont have paint that matches i wouldve just grabbed some satin black and told everyone you had the bottom speed coat'ed and it runs 80mph now.

Come to think of it, speed coat would have worked good...
