Thanks for the welcome. Got a great deal on this 79 Tahiti daycruiser with 454ci bored out to 0.60 over and panther jet with a place diverter. Took the Engine apart and it was shot so i went to R & D marine & they did the engine work bunch of great guys. Boat still needs work. I usually boat at Havasu, Topock Gorge. I do my start up runs at Lake elsinor. I will try to upload pics soon.

A panther with a place diverter? If im not misteakin it was called a panthovator and it was made by panther unless you have had a conversion done to the berk set up. Either way, sounds like a good boat. Gotta get some pics up

Ka0tyk would know..

I don't know much about the panther jet, but are you sure that's not an early style dominator pump with a Diverter?

Look inside the transom for a tag that says Hugo, OK..

Whats up with the 4 hoses @ the t - stat housing and the "tees' @ the water pump entry, is it actually running a thermostat? I have not seen that setup :o

from what everyone has said that has done the energizer conversion its MORE than worth it.  lowers the rpms and raises the mph.  only problem is that it requires sending the whole pump out to be redone, and it costs like half of what my boat is even worth.  60mph is fine with me.

prolly shuda moved this to the tech section but what's a ballpark fig $$ on energizer compared to berk conversion (glasswork/pump purchase/install)?  I won't holdya to guesstimates ...      just wunderin

man ur right about 1/2 the price of the boat.  i think I'm running close to ur top end (60), which is way to fast for the wife but to me feels like I'm "Drivin Miss Daisy".   turnin my back on my first squirter ...unthinkable right now, but I do spend a lot of time surfin eBay....hmmmm.    thx 4 the input
