Eek. Not good. And yes I always use a Plasti gauge even on Locomotive engines and Catalina express engines when I have done them.

I would give it three minutes... At idle.

Let me see what I have in the "pile"...

That crank is toast. Needs to be cut, minimum.

Don't wait till less than a week before you're supposed to take the boat out to do everything you've been putting off for the past year. :banghead:

got parts for carbs, installed , and "tuned"
scraped all the old grease from inside the wheels. need to replace seals
got new tires for the trailer. good thing i did.
replaced and rewired some of the trailer lights
cleaned electric fuel pump
replaced fuel filter
replaced some fuel lines. a hacksaw sucks at cutting steel braided lines. (or at least I do).
tried to redo some boat wiring, but figured it'll work for now and worry about it next year ;D.

I know some guys have done a lot more in less time, but I'm tired.
go to harbor freight tools and buy a 20 dollar 4" electric grinder then get the 4" cut off wheels to replace the grinding wheel you'll be cutting braided line like butter for under 30 bucks,  also wrap the line in tape where you want to cut and cut right through the tape it helps keeping the line from fraying.

Rebuilt the carbs and put her in the water and ran up river for a mile or so  and lost fuel pressure    I was able to put back with about 1 psi  then I had pressure again  for about 1/4 mile and lost it again  I'm thinking it a clogged filter

Have you taken the carb apart yet? My buddy was just having the same exact issue with his 460, would idle fine, then as soon as he'd hit 4200, he would lose fuel pressure. Floats were set up wrong

It turned out to be a bunch of cap in the tanks.  My fuel filter was plugged.   I'm in the process of cleaning out the tanks.
