Continued the sanding adventures on the back end of the cruiser. Some of the heavy repairs are done and now it's down to getting everything true. Hope to have this knocked out by the weekend so I can think about priming and laying down gel soon. Then figure out how to flip it back over!

Please keep in mind, this is my first boat...I actually just picked the thing up on Saturday.

So, I spent the day before running the boat and getting it ready. The following day, I wet/dry vacuumed the bilge area, then used some towels and a hair dryer to get all the last remaining water and moisture out. However, by the time I got to the lake, I must have missed some areas because there was a huge pool of water that must have come up from under the carpet.

Honestly, I was very polite with the guy (Gerardo) who inspected the boat. He in return, was super-rude, short, and told me there was absolutely no way to stop the inspection once he began. He then handed me the quarantine paperwork and walked away. Unapologetic, stone-faced and simply walked back inside the ranger office. No explanation, no nothing.

Either way, 7-day quarantine. Oh well. Thinking of taking it to the Marina just to get my feet wet. I'd like to make sure it's ready for this season.

yep.....hes better than you so you must be treated as such....right? :o :screwy:  unbelievable.

well lesson learned i guess eh....  when i took mine to lake perris, i stopped before getting near inspection area to check for water....sure enough....it was there.  soaked it up with a towel.  rest of boat was good.  i made it thru no problem. boat was a pile of shit....but thats another thread..... i hear silverwood is strict also.  elsinore....seems more laxed from what im told.  i havent been on that lake in nearly 15 years.  water color and smell turned me off from going back.  things could be different now.

cheers

Went there and got on water till they found out I had no baffles and they didn't even know what baffles where or where to look for them he asked me if they were working due to the three cop cars at the launch ramp said sounded loud!!!!🚤💨💨💨 always put a towel under motor then stop and pull out before pulling in works out for me nice and dry for there so called inspection. I told the guy I thought by that sticker I have that says muscle means I can carry them hahahaha!!!!!!!

Yup, lesson learned. Like I said, this is my first boat ownership so it's inevitable. Just wanted to give this thing a shakedown and make a list of things I need to address. Already saw some fuel leaking from the choke when it was running in the driveway.
