Cut and welded my old Bassett tt headers so my tall valve covers would fit getting them ready for ceramic coating

Dropped mine in the water for the first time since I got it this past December. This is my first boat.

Got out to open water and went no where. Need to look at the impeller, heard rattling and vibrations coming from the jet. But I was told it probably needed a new one when I bought it. So no real surprise there. At least I got it in the water.

Congratulations on the maiden voyage.  Sorry to hear about the jet issues.  Can you take some pictures of the impeller from the intake?

I wasn't able to take any good pictures from the intake. But here are a couple from the hand hole. I started taking things apart tonight. Nervous to see how it will look inside.

Took the bowl off tonight and got a good look at what was causing the issue. After pulling out the lodged rocks the impeller doesn't look too bad. All this is a first for me.

What do you guys think, how does it look? Part of me wants to put it all back together and retest on the water and see how it does.

I think every ding in both the leading and trailing edges will cavitate.  I would at least deburr it real good with a file while you got it apart

Cool, thanks for the advice. Just trying to be able to use it this season. Before having to do anything major.

The dings and poor shape of the impellor don't cavitate, those conditions create cavitation.
You have to remember folks that water is roughly 1,000 times more dense than air. Tolerances are critical in a performance pump.
I guarantee that pump is cavitating. Grinding and filing on the leading & trailing edges without taking into account the balance of the impellor is not wise.
What are the clearances on the wear ring to impellor?  Has that cavitation and vibration caused wear on the thrust bearing or the tail shaft bushing?
I spoke with jgrocha ten minutes ago. I know Chris at B1 will be able to steer him in the right direction.
Carry on.
