So i need this and my mechanical fuel pump? Never had a hull with 2 tanks...its coming from both and this T's off to a single i assume to the fuel pump?

I believe it's so you can electrically select between the two tanks. It's usually recommended to not run from tanks at the same time.

Yes that's what it's for. I do recommend carrying a spare. They do go out, I've been left floating Down the river because I had no way to switch tanks.

make sure it's grounded properly...my dad bought a boat and his switching valve was grounded to the screw holding it down to the wood/fiberglass subfloor.  Needless to say, that pissed me off....had to float 4 miles home.

.........and change your fuel lines....those don't look too good.

They never seem to draw down at the same rate for whatever reason...

For stuff like this, I prefer a manuel valve.
Its not the end of the world if you have to get out of your seat to switch tanks.
Not to mention its plastic.
The fittings are small.....
Just not for me .

its for cars, not boats.  wheres the manual ball valve to turn off the tank in case you have a leak?  not a fan of the electric valves.

it says for marine use only on it tho

I used this on my Liberty. I mounted it coming up through the splash well. Probably not as easy to mount with a jet but it works great.

All the high dollar boats are electric everything. Ive seen them with a large box thingamajig that controls left and right fuel tank.What is it? And about $500 bucks!

I would replace that valve and all that cracked fuel hose before you have major problems

im curious, why are you concerned with the constant voltage holding it open? just wire the switches power to the ignition power, so when the boat is off, the switch turns off.

They default to the top port so run the bottom port first in case it takes a dump that way you'll still have fuel to get back.

Yep back in the day my brother had a dana jet and it had dual tanks without a selector just a tee. When we would run out of gas the one tank would still have a 1/4 tank of gas, usually tried to not get it that low without filling but in the rare occasions we did, we would use vise grips and pinch off the one tank.
