Are your old rods totally trashed to where you couldn't get weights off of them?  They will probably be pretty close, but could also be way off.   I would at least see if the piston/rod assembly, in the event of pressed pins, were close.  Could pick up a cheap digital postal scale.  Just a suggestion.

Cheers,

Joe

Pulled her in the garage today. Gotta lift the motor to change the oil and get her prepped for Laughlin next weekend!

Pretty excited, I'm a river virgin! Wish me luck!!

While you got it lifted, consider installing an oil drain hose and if necessary, a head-mounted remote oil filter, or at least one that has the filter opening up so it doesn't spill when you remove it.

Be safe and have fun.

Thanks Joe! Yeah thats the plan, I have a drain hose on order so hopefully it gets here in time.... If not I plan on pulling the motor in a few months for a dyno session anyway so ill put the hose on then.

Thanks I had your headers done at Embee in May of this year.  The boat had all the chrome so we went with chromex coating.  They look nice but you still have to clean them with mothers.  Will you be going to big bend next month for the socal meet.  My wife liked that boat a lot.

I'm hoping to be out there, we're goin this weekend for the sw regatta then planning a trip to Parker for October, hopefully I can squeeze big bend in too.I'm thinking about having mine redone this winter, there's a lil rust showin in a few spots and they were cut shorter after the coating so the tips at the ends are rusting a bit. There's quite a few changes I'll be making but for the rest of this season I'm happy with it👍

if you're not gonna use the panther cover you should chop off those 2 brackets from the pump and grind it smooth... just another thing dragging in the water.  mine were chopped off of my pump in my old tahiti.
Definitely will be doin that, I've been eyeballin them and my grinder since I brought the boat home lol👍
